Privacy policy

Last updated: 27 October 2026

Sunflower is a Windows app that converts and edits files on your own computer. This policy explains what it does with your information. The short version: nothing leaves your PC.

What Sunflower collects

Nothing. Sunflower has no account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. It does not send your files, or any information about you or how you use it, anywhere. All conversions and edits, including background removal, happen on your computer.

What Sunflower uses on your computer, and why

• Your files. Sunflower opens only the files you drop on its menu or open with it. It saves results as new files next to the originals, or in a subfolder if you choose that in Settings. Your originals are never changed.
• Keyboard and mouse state. To open its menu, Sunflower checks whether your chosen key (Shift, Ctrl or Alt) is pressed while a mouse button is held. It does not record what you type.
• What's on screen behind its windows. To draw the glass effect, Sunflower takes a picture of the small area behind its menu and windows. These pictures stay in memory, are never saved and are never sent anywhere.
• Your signature, if you choose. If you tick "Remember this signature" in the Sign tool, the signature is saved as a picture in Sunflower's own folder on your computer. Untick it, or uninstall Sunflower, to remove it.
• Settings and a log file. Your settings and a short technical log for troubleshooting are stored on your computer only.

Links to other websites

The Metadata tool can show where a photo was taken as a map link. Nothing is sent unless you click it. Clicking opens OpenStreetMap in your web browser, where OpenStreetMap's own privacy policy applies.

Buying and updates

Sunflower is sold and updated through Microsoft Store. Payments, licences and updates are handled by Microsoft under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Sunflower itself receives no payment or personal details.

Children

Sunflower collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
